Climate change describes the gradual increase of the Earth’s average surface temperature, a result of the increased levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The warming of the Earth’s atmosphere is causing many changes in the Earth’s climate, including more extreme weather events, melting of glaciers and ice caps, and rising sea levels.
