Light travels at 299,792,458 meters per second in a vacuum, which is about 186,282mph. That kind of speed is indistinguishable to the human eye and anywhere on earth. But the Universe is a vast space of infiniteness and other planets and galaxies won’t catch light for much, much longer.
To illustrate that, Dr James O’Donoghue made the video above where you can compare how long it takes light to travel to other planets in our solar system. Kinda puts everything in our lives into perspective when you think about it.
