IEEE's 'Jamaica Section' held a STEM workshop at the University of Technology in Kingston

In a “first-of-its-kind” event, the IEEE Jamaica Section held a workshop in January at the University of Technology in Kingston. According to the organisers, the event attracted over 200 participants and featured some of Jamaica’s top educators and scientists including IEEE member Dr. Kevin Brown, Minister of Education and Youth Fayval Williams, Dr Lindon Falconer, and Dr Michelle Jillian Johnson.

Students and members met with IEEE leaders, government officials, university professors, and industry executives. Through the power of storytelling and the strength of IEEE’s mission, the One IEEE event connected participants to each other and to IEEE by showcasing the vibrant engineering community in Jamaica. Participants explored engineering and technology careers, academic pathways, and how IEEE can support them at different stages of their journey.

Events like these are why I started LOGiCFACE in the first place so I hope the attendees got what they needed to pursue their goals.
