Happy birthday to Beth A. Brown who was born on this day in 1969. She was the first Black woman to earn a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Michigan in 1998, with her research focusing on X-ray emissions of faint elliptical galaxies, and black holes. She sadly passed away on 8th October 2008.
