I don’t have Facebook anymore so I didn’t realise just how bad image AI scams had gotten on the site. What seems fairly innocuous gets more out of hand as you watch Danny Gonzalez’s video. It’s not just the uncanny valley imagery or the weird compositions that don’t make sense—it’s the responses.

People appear to be blissfully unaware that the images are fake but it gets worse as Danny shows bots responding with the same messages, regardless of context. Image AI at scale met with bot engagement at scale. Genius tech.
