This Does Not Compute looked back at Sony’s MiniDisc laptop, the VAIO PCG-NV200 from 2002. This was cool in theory but the sheer mount of Sony’s proprietary shenanigans made this a less VAIO-ble1 option for the regular consumer wanting to just rip songs and play how they saw fit. But the idea of having a MiniDisc drive on your laptop was still pretty awesome and I would have lapped1 this up.
