Tag: cryopreservation
Cryopreservation is the process of cooling biological materials like cells, tissues, and the attempted preservation of organisms to subzero temperatures. This process typically uses liquid nitrogen with the aim of pausing biological activity.
People have paid large sums to cryonically freeze their bodies in the hope that, in the future, a cure may be developed for their respective illnesses. Unfortunately, cryopreservation uses vast amounts of energy and liquid nitrogen and there have been cases where mechnical malfunctions have shut systems down and caused bodies to thaw. There’s no cure for that!
