Some arbitrary facts about the number 68

67 and 69 have lots of meme lore behind them but what about poor 68, wedged between them? Well, I didn’t it to feel left out so I thought I’d find some arbitrary facts about it.

  • 68 is a Perrin number
  • 68 is the last unique two-digit number to appear in pi (π)
  • Cornelia, one of Julius Caesar’s wives, died in 68 BC
  • Nero killed himself in 68 AD
  • 68 is an even composite number composed of two unique prime numbers multiplied together (2 x 2 x 17)
