Sorting out Christmas lights is tough but if you’re a proficient-enough nerd, you can map it all out using Python and computer vision. pixel_mapper by Andy Knitt is a collection of Python scripts designed for mapping out trees that have been wrapped with pixels.
The gist is you map RGB pixels in 3D space using computer vision so you can know where the lights should go every year you want to dress your trees for the holidays (or Halloween as his example showed in the repo).
