Earthbound In Space

YouTuber Krazy Contraptions sent their SNES copy of Earthbound to the edge of space and it’s out of this world (pun intended).

If you could send anything into space, what would it be? Earth to Sky Calculus provides that service using a helium balloon, allowing you to send almost any object to “the edge of space”. The balloon reaches around 100,000 feet, where the air pressure drops to 1% of sea level and temperatures can be as low as -70°C. YouTuber Krazy Contraptions took part and decided to launch a SNES copy of Earthbound into the heavens. The result is remarkable. At first, you’re not sure whether it’s real (maybe that’s how it feels to be a moon landing denier) and then after a few minutes on top of the world, it’s direction of travel becomes literal.
